MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Chad Molumphy, the man who pleaded guilty to attempted murder after police say he stabbed his girlfriend several times, was sentenced Wednesday.

A judge sentenced him to 25 years in prison.

Prosecutors said in January 2012, Molumphy broke into his ex-girlfriend's home. They said he stabbed her in the neck and took her cell phone so she could not call for help.

Molumphy was released from Mobile Metro Jail in May 2012. That's when his ex-girlfriend, Sonya Waldrop, talked with FOX10 News.

She said she feared for her life and had been getting hang-up phone calls since he posted bond.
