MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A sixteen-year-old was recovering at home on Sunday after she said was shot in the leg in an incident stemming from an argument over a teenage boy.

Stacia Smith said four teens pulled up in a vehicle in front of her home on Marcus Dr. on Saturday and told her to come outside.

When Stacia went outside, she said her siblings, 2, 3 and 14 years old, followed, along with one of her friends.

Stacia’s mother Amanda Mwok told FOX10 News the teens got out of the vehicle and began arguing. Then she said one of the teens slapped Stacia’s friend in the face.

“I heard she (Stacia’s friend) threw a stick and that's when the girl (inside the vehicle) hollered ‘shoot them, shoot them’. There were about five rounds that were fired towards my children, striking my 16-year-old."

Mwok said one of the bullets went past her 2-year-old’s head. Another grazed her daughter's friends’ knee, she said.

Stacia’s 14-year old sister described the aftermath.

"I’m scared. I don't know who got shot. Stacia goes inside and she kept calling my name and… the look she made, she started screaming. And then she said I’m shot and just collapsed."

Stacia was taken to the hospital on Saturday and is now recovering at home. She still has a bullet lodged in her thigh but is able to walk around using crutches.

Mwok said she wants the teens responsible behind bars before they hurt anyone else.

Mwok said police have been notified, and are looking for three or four people in the incident.

"They need to arrest them now. I can't send my daughter to school with someone that tried to kill her."
