MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Mayor Sam Jones wants to hear what people living in the city have on their mind. He's hosting a webchat Monday evening.
Mayor Jones will take questions on any topic regarding city government.
This past Thursday, a State of the City and County Lunch was held at the Convention Center.
Mayor Jones told FOX10 News he believes the city can work through its money problems.
"In terms of the budget deficit I don't think that's a major hurdle for us we just need to look at it make some decisions and move forward so we can prepare for tommorrow and put yesterday behind us," Mayor Sam Jones said.
It's unclear just how large the deficit is that the city faces, but latest estimates from the Executive Direcot of Finance put the shortfall between $12 and $14 million.
The State of the City Citizen News Conference webchat is Monday, June 25 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
If you can't be at your computer when the webchat is going on, you can submit questions ahead of time.
To access the webchat on Monday evening or to submit a question ahead of time, go to www.cityofmobile.org/state_of_the_city.php .
