SEMMES, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile County Sheriff's Office and Mobile Police are looking into a series of robberies they said may share a connection.
The sheriff's office said the investigation involves at least two holdups at Dollar General Stores.
The latest happened Sunday, March 17. According to reports, the incidents happen around closing time.
"Produced handguns, basically what we'd refer to as a takeover style robbery," said Lt. Paul Burch.
The newest incident happened Sunday night at the Dollar General Store on Moffet Road in Semmes. Deputies said it involved three suspects, all armed.
"Was able to order the victim to get into the safe and left with money and personal items belonging to the victim," Burch said.
Deputies believe the same three men hit another Dollar General just weeks ago. Now those crimes are being linked to other robberies with Mobile Police that have the same description.
"We do have some video. The subjects wore, disguised their faces, wore hoodies and bandannas over their faces. The description is limited," Burch said.
The suspects are described as three men, wearing blue and black sweatshirts with blue bandannas.
