MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Plans are being made for the 4th Annual Memphis to Mobile Run and you can be a part of it. The run raises money for South Alabama's children being treated by St. Jude children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
Runners and a strong support team are needed to make the event a success. Participants will head to Memphis on May 14. They will have a chance to tour St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and meet some of the doctors and patients. Runners will then start their three day trek home on May 15.
You do not have to be a fast runner, you just need to have a desire to help. The run is relay made up of two teams. Team A starts the run and runners on the team share the run of three to six miles at a time for an eight hour span. After that eight hours, Team B takes to the road.
The runners can't make their journey without a support team. Drivers and cooks are essential to make sure they keep going.
