MGM stars in HiQ premiere

First match of 2012 season

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The team of scholars from Mary G. Montgomery High School excelled during the first HiQ match in 2012.

HiQ is an academic quiz program, celebrating its 25th year in Mobile County.  Fox 10 News anchor Bob Grip has been the quizmaster for the past 24 years.

Thursday morning's match was in the theater at Leflore High School.

MGM jumped to an early lead, racking up 26 points by halftime, and built on its lead in the second half.

The final score was Mary G. Montgomery 44, Leflore 19 and Theodore 6.

The next match is Tuesday morning at Satsuma High School.
