MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - On Thursday, Nov., Cheryl Scott's friend of more than 30 years, Bonnie Broadus, left for north Alabama but never arrived.

Sunday, FOX10 broadcasted that 63-year-old Bonnie Broadus was missing. Mobile Police said a secretary at USA Medical Center saw the photo of Broadus on the news and contacted authorities. Now, the missing woman has been found.

Wednesday, Broadus was in the intensive care unit at USA Medical center. She is suffering from two broken legs and a damaged liver. She is also using a ventilator to assist with breathing.
She was involved in a severe car accident at the intersection of Cottage Hill and Azalea Road on Thursday Nov. 29.

Police said she was heading eastbound when she crossed over into the westbound lane resulting in a four car pile up. Police said Broadus was the only one treated for injuries.

Scott said Broadus was moving out of town to go live with relatives and was last seen turning into the Walgreen's at the corner of Cottage Hill and Knollwood Dr.

When relatives didn’t hear from Broadus, they contacted Scott and a search began.

“It was very scary because Bonnie is very short, very tiny, and all we could think about was someone hurt her,” said Scott.

By Saturday, Scott said she was in a panic. She had searched for Broadus, filed a police report and contacted FOX10 News for help.

“We asked the stations to put out the broadcast and you guys did it and it was instrumental in helping us find her,” said Scott.

By Monday morning, Scott said she heard a knock on her door and found officers waiting with information.

“You always think the worst at first because it’s six in the morning and they were there and they don’t tell you anything right off the bat and they said do you know Bonnie Broadus?”

Officers informed Scott of Broadus' status, and though she feared the worst, now she's just hoping for the best.
