City Councilmember Jermaine Burrell resigns

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Through his District 3 newsletter, FOX10 News has learned that Councilmember Jermaine Burrell has resigned from the city council at Tuesday's meeting.

Below is his statement:

Hello Citizens & Businesses of District 3:

I wanted you to be the first to know that I announced my resignation from the City Council at today's City Council meeting. I have enjoyed serving as your District 3 Council Representative the last three years. I wish each and every one of you great success.

Burrell says his resignation is effective Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
