Mobile juvenile court appoints referee

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A new official is being appointed to Juvenile Court in Mobile. Juvenile Court Judge Edmond Naman is presiding over the appointment of a referee Friday afternoon.

Referees are judicial officers who preside over hearings, consider testimony, and enter recommendations.

FOX10 News Reporter Steve Alexander is covering the event at Strickland Youth Center. He intends to look at some of the innovative and proven ways of fighting juvenile crime in Mobile. His story will air on FOX10 News at 5p.m.
