Mobile police investigate string of robberies

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile police are investigating a string of robberies that happened within hours of each other Thursday night, November 15.

The first robbery happened at the Shell Gas Station on 3357 Springhill Avenue around 7 p.m. Police say two men went into the station armed with guns, demanded money, then fled on foot. They were last seen running south on Ingate Street from Springhill Ave.

The second robbery happened around 8:55 p.m. at the Japanese Express on the corner of Schillinger and Cottage Hill roads. Police say two men entered the restaurant armed with guns, demanded money from the cashier, then fled on foot. They were last seen heading north behind the business.

The third robbery happened at 11:42 p.m. at the Chevron on South University Boulevard. Police say two men entered the business through the front door armed with guns, demanded money from the cashier, then fled on foot. They were last seen running south on University Boulevard.

In all three instances, the suspects were described as followed:

Black male, approximately 5’11, 160 lbs, wearing a black mask over face, dark sunglasses, black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black tennis shoes

Black male, approximately 6’00, 170 lbs, wearing a black mask over face, dark sunglasses, black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jeans
