MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - On Wednesday, Jan. 2, police chase ends with a crash and two arrests.

Officials said 16-year-old Tyler Brazelton and 17-year-old Deonte Hughs face robbery and eluding police charges.

Mobile police said the incident started when a victim was carjacked near Boudousquie Street, which intersects with McVay Drive.

"We received a call for a carjacking. And while investigating the incident, the officers then spotted the vehicle the suspects had taken from the victim,” said Mobile Police Corporal Christopher Levy.

Levy said an officer was taking the initial report from the victim when other officers spotted the car on DIP near Halls Mill Road.

“After they refused to stop, we pursued the vehicle, and they later crashed it. After a short foot pursuit, we actually have two people in custody, now,” said Levy.

Police held the two suspects at the scene while they collected evidence and took photos of the wreck.

The suspects crashed the car near Halls Mill road and Houston Street, barely missing an eatery and a house.

“He hit a curb prior to getting to this intersection, which flattened both of his tires, which made it difficult for him to maneuver the turn and crash into the pole,” said Levy.

Later, at Mobile Police Headquarters, one of the suspects spoke to FOX10  News as he was led to a police car.

“It’s all business; it’s all business .No one would’ve gotten hurt,” said Brazelton.

Levy said they had no reports from the victim of any physical injuries.
