MPD confirms shots fired at Mardi Gras

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police confirmed shots were fired at Mardi Gras on Friday, February 8. They said the incident happened near Washington and Church streets.

They said, however, no injuries were reported.

According to a witness who asked to remain anonymous, multiple shots were fired.

“It was about 9 shots,” he said. “I mean, we just got to running. We heard gun shots and were running.”

Officials with the Mobile Police Department said they have a juvenile suspect in custody. Investigators said he is being taken to Strickland Youth Center.
