MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile police are investigating a possible hit-and-run accident on Saturday morning that left one man in critical condition.

Police said around 5 a.m. on Saturday, they responded to a report of one struck on North Jackson St. at St. Louis St. in Mobile. The victim was neither alert nor responsive but he was breathing.

A preliminary investigation found that there was a verbal dispute between the occupants of the black Chevy Tahoe, described as older — possibly 1997-1998 — and the 20-year-old victim.

Police said the vehicle was last seen traveling east on St. Michael Street.

Police said detectives will continue the investigation. If you have any information about this, please call Mobile Police at (251) 208-7211.
