MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Murder suspect Mario Davis was issued no bond Monday by Judge George Hardesty.
Davis is accused in the shooting death Christy Golston at the Park Place townhomes on Dandale Drive.
Police say the incident happened just before 1 p.m. on July 17. Later that night, Davis was found and arrested by U.S. Marshals and state police in Georgia.
Prosecutors at Monday’s bond hearing requested no bond because they say Davis ran from the marshals and tried to fight the arrest.
Defense attorney Jeff Deen argued Davis had family in the Atlanta area, and that’s why he fled. Deen said Davis and Golston had a more than seven-year relationship and have two children together.
Davis has prior arrests including assault, harassment, and domestic violence.
Hardesty set a preliminary hearing for Davis for August 14, 2012 at 2 p.m.
