MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Murphy High School scored 37 points to win Tuesday's HiQ academic competition, hosted by St. Luke's Episcopal School on University Boulevard.
Murphy held the lead at halftime in the match against St. Luke's and Williamson, and fought off a challenge by St. Luke's to win the match.
The final score was Murphy 37, St. Luke's 28 and Williamson 4.
Two rounds of competition are now complete. At the end of the third round, the top scoring team will receive a bye to the HiQ Championship. The second to seventh place teams will compete in a semi-final series to determine the two teams that will meet in the championship.
