New controversial fence deemed illegal

MOBILE, Ala. - Neighbors in the Cypress Shores community have a victory.

It's the latest development in a story we've been following on Fox10 News and our website.

Neighbors complained the new fence Karen Lathan started building after her first one was torn down was illegal. Well, it seems the city of Mobile agrees.

City spokesperson Adam Buck says an inspector found two violations with the controversial fence.

"Two code violations were discovered. One was for building without a permit, and one was a violation of the zoning ordinance, so two notices of violation were issued," Buck said.

Buck says the Lathans have ten days to correct the violations.
