MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Officials say there were more than 100 people at a party Thursday night at the Grove Complex on Old Shell Road.

Police say when officers arrived to break up the party, Willie Malone was intoxicated and refused to leave. Officials say when police tried to arrest him, a fight ensued.

Police say during the struggle, an officer hit his head on an open car door.

Officials say officer was taken to Providence Hospital where he received “less than a dozen stitches,” and is “doing just fine.”

Malone is charged with failure of disorderly persons to disperse, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and assault second degree.

He was released on $4,750 bond.
