One person Life-Flighted after Interstate 65 accident

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - Life-Flight was called to an accident that happened on I-65 northbound between Saraland and Satsuma.

Traffic was at a standstill as the helicopter landed on the interstate.

The Satsuma police and fire department responded, as well as Saraland police and Alabama Highway Patrol.

Police say a man was driving a gray Dodge pick-up truck was traveling northbound on I-65. They say he crossed the grassy median and headed toward oncoming traffic on I-65 southbound.

Officials say the truck avoided other vehicles on the road, but crashed into brush between the northbound and southbound lanes.

Authorities say they man was wearing his seatbelt.

No names have been released.
