One shot on Via Alta Dr. injuries "serious"

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile police said one person was shot inside his grandfather’s home on Via Alta Drive.

According to reports, the victim's uncle drove him to Providence Hospital.

Investigators said the victim’s injuries appear to be very serious.

Witnesses tell FOX10 they saw a heavy set male walk up to the home; and then a minute later, they heard a single gunshot. They said they heard someone yell, "Kill him!” and soon after saw a car drive away from the scene.

Authorities believe this was not a random shooting.

The victim has been identified, however police are waiting to notify family members before releasing any more information.
