MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The GoDaddy.com Parade took place in Downtown Mobile on Saturday night ahead of the bowl game of the same name.

While the focus of many was on the BCS title game, Arkansas State and Kent State prepared to face off in the GoDaddy.com Bowl on Sunday.

A Mardi Gras style parade rolled through downtown Mobile and thousands lined the streets to catch treats, beads and MoonPies as they watched more than 10 Mardi Gras societies participate in the parade.

Local bands and bands and cheerleaders from both teams also took part in the event.

The GoDaddy.com Bowl kicks of at 8 p.m. on Sunday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
