MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A pediatrician accused of enticing a child for sex on the internet will be prosecuted on the federal level.
Dr. Murali Krishna Reddy was also charged by Saraland Police for driving to meet a child for an unlawful sex act; he was arrested in May and remains behind bars.
Attorney’s for the state of Alabama null processed the case this morning before Judge Michael McMaken, then handed it over to federal authorities.
Reddy is a native of India. At the time of his arrest he had only been in the US for 11 months.

Reddy was in his first year of residency at USA Women’s and Children’s hospital specializing in pediatrics.
Police say Reddy communicated with a 15-year-old boy on a social networking site, and tried to meet him for sex. Instead, Reddy was met by police officers.
