SATSUMA, Ala. (WALA) - The Satsuma Fire Department received a call about an apartment duplex on fire around 7:59 Thursday morning.

When they arrived at 315 Baker Road they found smoke showing on one part of the building and fire coming from the rear of the building.

Firefighters had to force their way into the building to see if there was anyone inside. They reported the living room and bedroom on fire.

They did not find anyone inside the building but there were several pets. Most of the pets did not survive the blaze but firefighters were able to resuscitate one cat.

Fire Chief Clyde Miller said that it took them about a half an hour to put out the fire. No one was hurt. The Satsuma Fire Department was assisted by Saraland’s fire department in putting out the fire.
