MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police said Glenterius Hunter, 17, brought a revolver to LeFlore High School is charged with first-degree robbery.
Jail records show Hunter was booked into Mobile Metro Jail Monday afternoon, charged with first-degree robbery and, as of Tuesday, he remained there.
Police said Hunter's robbery charge came from an incident between him and another student. They said Hunter took a cell phone away from the other student and walked off.
Police said the victim followed Hunter in an attempt to get the cell phone back, and that’s when Hunter pulled a gun out of his backpack and put it in his pocket.
“The student was arrested by police and he is suspended from school. The principal will take a look at it and figure out how many days he needs to be suspended,” said MCPSS spokesperson, Nancy Pierce.
Hunter’s sister-in-law, Deosha Sellers, said Hunter gets into trouble sometimes but overall, he is a good kid. She said he has had trouble with other students at school and believes peer pressure got the best of him.
“I didn’t see this coming. We’ll probably talk it out with him and see where his mindset is,” she said.
