Students robbed in South Alabama's Epsilon 1 dorms

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - University of South Alabama police officers continued to investigate a robbery that happened inside a dorm room on campus.

"They're real shooken up about it. The guy that actually got robbed he's not coming back to school," said Nicholas Lankscer.

Lankscer is friends with the three students whom police said were robbed in an epsilon dorm room around one Friday morning.

"He doesn't know the people. They wore masks. It was really degrading he said, and it wasn't something he expected he had just gotten back from a date with his girlfriend," said Lankscer.

USA Police said the robbers just walked in the unlocked dorm room, but one question is how the robbers actually got into the dorm building itself, considering at that time of the morning the doors are locked.

That is still being investigated. Police, however, said they have a motive.

"Subjects entered the room, looking for drugs," said USA Police Chief Zeke Aull.

Lankscer said his friend told him the robbers got away with a little cash, a play station, and a cell phone.  He said word of the robbery spread quickly.

"We warned people in the building that we knew, that they needed to lock and bolt their doors; and we walked a couple of people back to their rooms because they were too scared to walk by themselves," said Lankscer.

Lankscer said everyone is on edge, awaiting an arrest.

Police said the three robbers were college-age men, wearing dark colored shirts and shorts. Police are reviewing surveillance video from around campus. If you have any information, call USA Police.
