BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - A principal and a school bookkeeper have been placed on paid administrative leave at Foley Intermediate School.
According to Baldwin County Public School spokesperson Terry Wilhite, both Principal Lee Mansell and Book Keeper Mauren Stiles are the subjects of an internal investigation.
Some parents who spoke to FOX10 said they were shocked their children’s principal is being forced to temporarily step down from the job.
One parent we spoke to said it is not a surprise.
“I knew it was going to come sooner or later because there was many problems over there,” she said.
Wilhite will not comment on the basis of the investigation, but said, “The actions have nothing to do with safety and security of students.”
An interim principal has stepped in.
Wilhite said the investigation could take weeks or months. He said there is no criminal investigation.
