MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - It was all about Mardi Gras in downtown Mobile Friday night, February 1.
The season continued with the Order of Inca, which rolled out more than a dozen elaborate floats.
Thousands made the trip down to the Port City, some as far as Ohio, to take part in all the fun and catch a few beads.
“I don't know, this is just exciting,” said one woman who came down from Ohio for a ‘girls’ weekend. “I've never been here so I’m about to see.”
The theme of the night was “Remember When.”
The Order of Inca rolled out elaborate floats that included depictions of The Beatles, Al Capone, and even Alabama vs. Auburn football.
Each reveler made the trip downtown for their own reasons.
“Getting stuffed animals, beads, and candy,” said one child.
“Meeting new and interesting people,” said a woman.
FOX10 caught up with tourists from Montgomery, Atlanta, and even New York who made the trip down south as well.
Some said they plan to make the trip down for Mardi Gras every year.
