Several webchat questions go unanswered

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Earlier this week Mobile Mayor Sam Jones office held its first ever community web chat where Mayor Jones answered questions from concerned citizens.

While the city promised not to cherry pick questions and answer any question in the order it was received, FOX10 has learned the city missed a few.

In an hour and a half, Adam buck with the city said they got through 28 of the 91 questions submitted by citizens.

FOX10 News requested a full list of the questions submitted to compare it to the ones that were actually answered and found the city missed quite a few of them.

“Andrew, you were there. You saw we were answering them constantly,” said Adam Buck with the City of Mobile. “There was no time where we were sitting around and hunting and pecking for a question.”

Adam buck with the city of mobile argues the mayor and his staff never intentionally skipped any questions.

“We would take a question, and I would type of the response. And in the time it took me type up a response, two or three questions would come in and I would take the next most recent question,” he said.

Meanwhile, the mayor’s office is looking to conduct city web chats more often.

Mayor Jones said he is hoping to get through more of them in the coming weeks.
