MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - An employee with the City of Wilmington, North Carolina is facing child sex abuse charges in Mobile County.
Brion Capo was indicted last month, and he was booked into metro over the weekend.
Investigators say the sex abuse went on for years while Capo was visiting the area.
They say the young victim came forward to church leaders after hearing a sermon at church camp.
Assistant District Attorney Nicki Patterson says, “(The victim) was moved to approach leaders in her church and to say this is something that has been bothering her for several years. Capo is charged with child sex abuse and sodomy.
According to Wilmington media, he’s the city’s urban forester.
