MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A University of South Alabama student has been arrested for the second time in two days.

Akil Grace,18, was arrested for trespassing on the campus of the University of South Alabama Monday.

"He'd been banned from campus. So when he returned, that's trespassing; and they signed a warrant for his arrest," said Cpl. Chris Levy.

That arrest by USA police comes a day after Grace was arrested by Mobile police.

Police said Grace was at a Club Krush when an argument took place in the parking lot.  That's when police said Grace pulled a gun and started firing. That led to the first arrest, and Grace being banned from the USA campus.

"We actually arrested him Sunday on campus. We'd received several tips from the public identifying him as the shooter. We went to his dorm room," Levy said.

Mobile police confiscated a handgun from Grace's dorm room during his first arrest. Cpl. Chris Levy said the university did the right thing.

"This is someone who is accused of a violent felony. And if I was on campus or if I had family on the campus, that's not who I would want to mingle with. It's good he's not being allowed there," Levy said.

Along with trespassing, Grace is charged with second degree assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Grace is scheduled to be in court September 17.

The 23-year-old victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at USA Medical Center.
