MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile and Fairhope Social Security offices will see a reduction and working hours by thirty minutes each weekday, starting on Monday.
The change, which will go into effect on Nov. 19, will change the offices hours to Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The offices will also begin to close at noon on Wednesdays beginning on January 2, 2013.
The new hours will not effect employees, but the time that the offices will be open to the public. Officials said the shortened window of being open to the public, will allow them to complete face-to-face interviews and process claims without the cost of overtime.
