Suspect contacts victim, bond revoked

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The attorney for James Walls waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The case was sent over to a grand jury by Judge Jay York.

The Mobile County District Attorney's Office said Walls’ bond should be revoked since he contacted one of the alleged victims in his case while he was out on bond.

"As you heard in court, there was no one here but the officer to recite the evidence that she's collected. A lot of those were statements of other people. The judge heard the evidence and was satisfied they were violated," said defense attorney Jason Darley.

Walls was arrested in October, charged with two counts of rape, two counts of sodomy, and two counts of incest involving two underage girls. Testimony in court revealed once Walls was out on bond, he allegedly contacted one of those victims, sent that victim pictures, and investigators believe had sexual contact with the girl.

A relative of the girl spoke out after the hearing.

"I want him to stay away from her because he's apparently got mind control over her from what we see and how we've talked to her. We just want it to stop for her to get her mind clear," said the relative.

The judge revoked Walls' bond and sent him back to metro jail to wait on his case to be heard by the grand jury.

Walls spoke at length to our cameras when he was arrested saying he was sorry for what he did, and he has to do, what he has to do, concerning jail. That video has been subpoenaed by the district attorney’s office.
