MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Police said at least one person is responsible for the damage of several Mobile County school buses.
Officials said the front, back and side windows were shattered on at least 29 buses.
John Knapp transports buses and found the damage Tuesday.
“It made me sick, made me sick to my stomach it was like seeing my property gone,” Knapp said. “It just was a shock to me to come in here and see this mess.”
Investigators said they believe the suspect or suspects threw rocks at the buses, destroying the windows, and they believe the incident caused over $5,000 worth of damage.
“The security officer left the property Friday at 4 p.m. and when they returned yesterday (Monday), they discovered the buses had been damaged,” said Ashley Rains with Mobile Police.
“This is just ridiculous and I can't stand seeing tax money blown away like that,” Knapp said.
Knapp believes kids did the damage, but police are still investigating. If you have any information about the crime, you are asked to call police.
