MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - An elderly couple in Mobile is picking up the pieces after a tornado struck on Dec. 20 , destroying their home.
Early Thursday morning Phoebe and James Clement's woke to a siren. Their daughter Libby Davis said before they could get to safety, a tornado ripped through their home.
"She said it came down just in a split second just lasted maybe 2 seconds. Came down removed the porch took the roof off blew the windows in," said Davis.
The husband and wife, who are both in their 90s, walked out of the home unharmed.
"They are tough," said Davis.

The house and car are destroyed but the family is thankful because it could have been worse. The home next door was almost flattened by the storm.
"We’re just blessed, and we thank God,” said Davis.
Right after, the Marine Corps League rushed over to help clean up. Now there is not much left of the home they have lived in for more than 40 years.
"It’s their home, and they loved that so I'm sad for them," said Davis.
It's time to move forward, and that's what they are doing. The family went and looked at three houses today, and already put an offer in for one of them.
"They're anxious to move back into a new house,” said Davis.
