MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A number or passengers aboard the triumph chose to stay in Mobile overnight, and they are sharing their stories with FOX10 News.

Thursday, members of the Brown family used their bodies to spell out the word “help” aboard the Triumph.

"We were a floating petri dish,” said Adrienne Brown.

Friday, Adrienne and her four kids are just happy to be on solid ground in Mobile.

“It happened Sunday morning, and Monday was the last time we showered until last night,” said Brown.

Brown was swapping stories with people in the hotel lobby of The Holiday Inn downtown. They covered everything, including the sewage leak on the ship.

“We lost two pieces of luggage because they were sitting in it, and it was about that deep. We couldn't go into our restrooms the toilets were already backed up and over flowing,” said Brown.

Brown said she couldn’t stand to be inside the ship so the family moved outside.

“Yeah, that is where we lived,” said Brown.

She said she wasn't fond of the food.

"After awhile, everything you eat and drank started to taste  like everything smelled, and you had to force yourself to eat. You had to force yourself to drink,’ said Brown.

Another Triumph passenger, Don Mader, was relaxing in the hotel lobby. He said the Carnival crew took good care of him.

"Well overall the Carnival, the people they had working for them, bent over backwards to try to and take care of us. It was what they had to work with. They did some remarkable things,” said Mader.

He plans on using his free cruise voucher soon.
