GRAND BAY, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile County Sheriff's Office said an anonymous tip led them to this mobile home in Grand Bay.
"We were out doing knock and talks following up on the tip on Roy Miller Road," said Sgt. Joe Mahoney with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.
Mahoney said what deputies found inside was a working meth lab and a little girl caught in the middle.
"What we encountered at this house off Roy Miller Road. There was this 10-year -old girl who has one leg and has to take breathing treatments and has leukemia right there in the middle of the meth lab," said Sgt. Mahoney.
Deputies arrested the little girl's mother Rachel Cutchen along with Terry Mize for chemical endangerment of a child, trafficking methamphetamine and manufacturing a controlled substance.
Philip Aquino was also arrested at the scene charged with possession of marijuana.
Deputies are still looking for Nick Kofonis.
His rap sheet dates back to the 1990. The charges include assault, robbery and DUI.
Narcotics agents said he was cooking the meth at this home.
"Essentially, what happened here is the mother allows a meth cook and another person to move into the house, and puts the little girl out of her bedroom and put her on the couch so the meth cooks could have a room to stay in," said Sgt. Mahoney.
FOX10 News tried to talk to neighbors about what was going on here but didn't get far.
Luckily for the little girl, deputies said she has been removed from the home. They said hopefully for good.
"The next step is to vigorously prosecute the mother and everyone else involved and try to get the child out of this environment," added Sgt. Mahoney.
Terry Mize AND Rachel Cutchen remain behind bars.
Anyone with information on Nick Kofonis is asked to call the Sheriff's Office.
