MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Ricky Dixon said he was at home last night making dinner when he heard a knock at his front door. When he opened the door, he found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

“It was a shock you know. I wasn't ready for it but you have to help somebody if they come to your doorstep bleeding. It was definitely strange,” Dixion said.

Dixion lives on Tower Drive in the Castlewood subdivision. He believes the victim ran through the woods near Schillinger road and ended up on his front porch.

Police said they’re trying to determine where the shooting happened.

“The actual incident didn’t occur there where our victim was recovered. He gave us some information and we have not been able to verify that information yet,” Mobile police spokesperson Chris Levy said.

Levy said this isn't the first time the victim has been shot. Last week, the victim was shot in Theodore, on Sperry Road.

“We’re trying to figure out how in the world you have two incidents like this in a week’s time,” Levy said.

Authorities said the victim isn't giving very much information about where the most recent shooting happened and they need the public's help.

Police said it's too early to determine if the two shootings are related.
