PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) - Coaches and staff of Vigor High School spent Friday morning preparing for the school's first football game, but not in the way you may think.
Instead of looking at film, running last minute drills, or attending a pep rally, they were at Prichard Stadium, covered in sweat.
Vigor Head Football Coach Kerry Stevenson said he found out Tuesday that no work had been done to the field, which is owned by the city of Prichard.

The head coach said he owed it to his players that worked so hard in the last couple of weeks.
Stevenson said late Friday morning city workers did show up and began working on the field.
He said the field will be ready as Vigor takes on Davidson High School tonight.
