SARALAND, Ala. (WALA) - Saraland Police bust another person suspected of a sex crime against a child.
Forty-three-year-old Jeanette Miller was arrested and charged with three counts of possessing child pornography. This is the second such arrest this week, through the Internet Crimes Against Children but police said it’s unlike any that police have seen so far.
Saraland Police said an anonymous tip led them to Miller's home on in Eight Mile, just behind the new Blount High School. What investigators said they found was a first for Cpl. James Morton.
"This is actually my first [child pornography] case involving a female offender," said Cpl. Morton.
Cpl. Morton said the charges are the result of pornographic images seized from her home. Officers did not leave Miller's home empty-handed.
"We took her computer for the time being," said Cpl. Morton.
Investigators also took her young son from the home.
"The home is infested with lice and fleas. The conditions of the house are uninhabitable. We felt it was best for the child for us to call the Department of Human Resources, so they would do what is best for the child," said Morton.
Saraland Police do not believe at this time Miller's son was involved in the pornography. Cpl. Morton hopes it stays that way.
Mobile Metro Jail records show this is Miller's first arrest as an adult.
