CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WALA) - Crestview Police said a man was arrested after he was stabbed during a physical altercation with his girlfriend.

Police said 44-year-old Arguster Richardson notified the Crestview Police Department that he had been robbed, and was then attacked, and stabbed by an unknown assailant. They said they later determined that he had actually been accidentally stabbed during a physical altercation with his girlfriend.

During the altercation, investigators said Richardson physically attacked his girlfriend, who was attempting to defend herself. Police said at one point his girlfriend reached for a knife as Richardson jumped on top of her, falling onto the knife and received a puncture wound in his chest.

Richardson was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital by ambulance, and was released. Richardson was then arrested and charged with felony domestic battery, and was transported and released into the custody of the Okaloosa County Jail.
