OKALOOSA, Fla. (WALA) - The Walton County Sheriff's office said a boater discovered the body of a boater who has been missing for nearly a week Sunday morning.
The WCSO said they received a 911 call at around 9 a.m. on Sunday from the boater in the middle of Choctawhatchee Bay who had located the body of Robert Shawn Gregory.
Gregory has been missing since his boat capsized on Oct. 29.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) responded to the scene, as well as the medical examiner’s office.
WCSO has been assisting the FWC with the search this week by using numerous boats, a helicopter, a wave runner, a cadaver dog, the dive team and the MBAT (Mobile Command). The FWC is currently investigating this incident.
