PPD: body found in Georgia may be missing Pensacola man

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - The Winder Police Department received a call from Pensacola police on Monday about a man missing since September.

They had leads that he may have traveled to Winder, Georgia, with two brothers.

Pensacola police identified the missing man as 30-year-old Sean Dugas.

Winder police contacted the father of William and Christopher Cormier at a house on 6 ^th Avenue.

The man told police his sons arrived from Florida about three weeks ago.

The brothers told their father they were caring for a friend's dog.

“They were taking care of the missing person's dog. They didn't like the dog so they killed it. They asked the father if they could bury the dog in his backyard,” said Winder Police Chief Dennis Dorsey.

Police got a warrant, dug up a section of the yard, and found human remains buried beneath a slab of concrete.

“As we lifted it up, it was just one large piece, you could see a blue container -- a large blue container, storage container. We were able to cut the bottom away from it, and there was, in fact, a body,” said Chief Dorsey.

The Cormier brothers are in jail, currently charged with concealing the death of another person.

Winder Police said the remains were sent to Atlanta and an autopsy was scheduled early Tuesday.

Authorities have not yet identified the body.

Pensacola police said a woman made several attempts to contact Sean Dugas at his Creighton Road home, from late-August to early September.

Police said neighbors told her that a man moving stuff out of the house on September 3 said that Dugas had been beaten up and planned to live with him.

The woman contacted Pensacola police on September 13.

One of Dugas' family members said Dugas worked for a Pensacola newspaper but was laid off about two years ago.
