PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Escambia County investigators have learned the identity of the person whose bones were found in Baldwin County on December 17, 2012.

Officials said they are those of Nancy Craycraft, 55, of Pensacola.

Investigators said the remains, confirmed as Craycraft's, were found in a grassy area by a teenager riding his four wheeler.

Neighbors told FOX10 in December that the remains were mostly skeletal and there were no clothes nearby.

Craycraft went missing on October 19, 2012, when she was seen leaving Chan's Nightclub.

Craycraft’s vehicle was later found in Baldwin County, Alabama on October 21, 2012.

Investigators from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office are working closely with investigators from Baldwin County, Alabama on this case.

"We were working it as a missing person’s case, and we always want to find them alive. This wasn't the case this time so it's a whole new investigation. This was the worst case scenario," said Investigator Robert Guy with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

A Facebook page created by Craycraft's loved ones titled Find Nancy, reacted with many folks saying she'll be missed and describing the news as heartbreaking.

Investigators ask if you have any information about this case please call Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers at 250.433.STOP or Escambia County dispatch at 850.436.9620.
