PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - The Blue Angels will close their 2012 season with their annual Homecoming Air Show aboard the Pensacola Naval Air Station on Nov. 2-3.
FOX10 News will have exclusive coverage of the show, which will include aerial acrobatics and stunts by a number of pilots. This year’s event will also include a concert on Nov. 3 featuring Big and Rich, Cowboy Troy and Bradley Gaskin.
The shows will begin at 9:30 both days, but the gates will open at 8 a.m. The “Tour for the Troops” concert will take place at 4 p.m. on Nov. 3.
The Emerald Coast Skydivers and the Army Black Daggers Parachute Demonstration teams will make jumps above the show and Training Air Wing SIX will feature a fly-by of training aircraft. A number of other aerial shows will also take place, including helicopters and a variety of planes.
Speaking of a variety of planes, more than 50 civilian and military aircraft will be on display. An F-18 hornet, a Japanese Zero and a C-130 Hercules.
In addition to the scheduled Friday and Saturday shows, there will be a special night show beginning at 4 p.m. on Nov. 2. The New Orleans Navy Band, “Crescent City Krewe” will kick-off the show followed by an aerial light show with pyrotechnics and afterburners.
