Blue Angels' homecoming air show offers variety

PENSACOLA, Florida (WALA) - The Navy’s flight demonstration squadron the Blue Angels will end their 2010 season at NAS Pensacola, and there is plenty to keep the family entertained.  The show will be November 11-13 aboard NAS Pensacola.

Besides the Blue Angels and Fat Albert, there are numerous military performers, skydivers, aerobatics and fly-by appearances.

• F-22 Raptor Stealth Fighter
• F-15E Strike Eagle Demo Team
• F/A 18 Super Hornet from Strike Fighter Squadron 106
• U.S. Special Operations Command parachute team
• Greyhawks of VAW-120 will fly the E-2C Hawkeye.
• Emerald Coast Skydiving team
• Training Air Wing SIX

A Pensacola favorite, Otto the helicopter, will entertain everyone with his antics and the B-25 “Special Delivery” will take you back to WWII.

There are also tentative plans for aerobatics to be performed by Jan Collmer flying the Fina Extra 300L, the Aerostars Aerobatic Team will fly the Yak-52TW, David Martin, piloting his Brietling X-330, Joe Fagundes will be pushing his SNJ-5 to its limits, Bill Leff will pilot his AT-6 Texan and Bob Carlton will amaze the crowd with his sail plane.

You can also check out more than 50 military and civilian aircraft. They range from present day to the 1930s.

There will also be a night show on Thursday night only starting at 4:30 p.m. Aircraft will light up the sky with full afterburner and pyrotechnics.

Gates open at 8 a.m. for daytime shows which will start at 10 a.m. Both admission and parking are free to everyone. There will be food and memorabilia available for all attendees to purchase.
