PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Police said a child and two adults were held at gunpoint during an attempted robbery in Pensacola, and the suspects are still on the loose.

Following the news of the home invasion, Roberta Kimball is going door-to-door offering residents on East Texar Drive a special deal on security systems.

She said the victims weren't home to greet Kimball, but from experience, she said she has an idea of what they're dealing with.

"They can't lay their head down and go to sleep. They're afraid, and rightfully so," Kimball said. "They just went through an ungodly experience."

The Pensacola Police Department said two men entered a home at the corner of Texar and Escalona Avenue, uninvited, demanding money. According to police, the suspects held the victims at gunpoint and confined them to bedrooms inside the residence.

One of those victims was an 8-year-old boy.

Officials said no one was harmed and no money was found. The crooks only made off with a mobile phone.

"I'm hearing a lot in the news where small kids are being victimized as a part of this, and certainly they would have nothing to do with it," said Captain David Alexander. "So certainly, we would like to find out whoever did this and bring them to justice as soon as possible."

That's where the public comes in.

According to police, one suspect is heavy set with a dark complexion. The other is approximately six feet tall and has a light complexion.

"It used to be a time when you would not think about not having to worry about being in danger in your own home. But nowadays, you have to make sure your doors are locked, your windows are closed, and all the safety precautions you can take you have taken that," Alexander said.
