PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Escambia County Deputies said David Lee Clark, 34, and Allen Coydell Carey, 37, committed a violent home invasion here on Beverly Parkway on January 12, 2012.
The homeowner, who wants to remain anonymous, said he, his wife and their friend were watching a movie in their home when they heard a noise at the front door.
“By the time I was able to get up, two guys rushed into the house. They pushed me on the couch, punched me in the face then stuck a knife to my chest and told all of us to give them our money,” said the victim.
The victim said he then chased after the suspects and forced himself into their car. That’s when they hit the gas and dragged him for nearly a block.
“I was hanging onto the car and the guy kept punching me. He wound up getting me off the car by punching my face again. When I fell off I went and called the cops,” the victim said.
Deputies say they spotted the white Dodge Charger Clark and Carey were driving on Mobile Highway and the chase was on.
Authorities said the pair ditched the car and fled on foot but later K-9 officers tracked them down.
The victim said the money taken in the crime is more than half their monthly income, but it’s his family’s peace of mind that was truly stolen.
“Now I think what if they come back and try to get me? What do I do now? I’m in fear for my life and my wife’s in fear for her life," the victim said, "We may have to move just because of this. Hopefully the suspects will be found guilty and we’ll be alright then."
Clark and Carey were arrested and charged with home invasion and robbery.
Both men are being held in the Escambia County jail under a $150,000 bond.
