PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Escambia County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a murder off Highway 29 in Pensacola.

Authorities said they received reports of multiple shots fired in the 6800 block of Tiki Lane around 5:30 p. m. Monday, Oct. 22.

Investigators said when they arrived, they found an adult man dead inside his car outside of a residence.

Authorities said the man has been identified as 25-year-old Labar Brown.

On Tuesday, the memory of the crime was still affecting those nearby.

“I was shocked, very shocked. I didn’t know what was going on and I was scared,” said one neighbor.

Deputies said no arrests have been made but they are looking for one suspect in connection with the crime.

Authorities began talking to witnesses and searching the area for anyone who may have been involved.

Around 10:45 p. m. Oct. 22, authorities said more shots were fired in the same area.

“Deputies hadn’t been gone very long when it happened. They were back on scene again quickly but didn’t find anything besides the evidence,” Deputy Matt Baxter said.
What appear to be bullet holes can be seen in the wall of an apartment near where authorities say Brown was killed.

Neighbors told FOX 10 that behind the wall was a little girl’s room but her family has now packed up and left.

One neighbor said she intends to take her young child and do the same.

“I’m looking for somewhere to move now. When I first moved her it was quiet, and now I don’t want to be here. It’s not safe,” she said.

Investigators believe the case to be drug related, and are still seeking any information about the crime.
