PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - The Florida Highway Patrol says two women were seriously injured when their vehicle was struck head-on by a drunk driver Friday night.
The Highway Patrol arrested Derwin Robinson, 30, on Feb. 8 after his car collided head-on with Jayne Brown’s around 9 p.m. Brown and her passenger, Dianna Nielsen, were seriously injured.
Officials said Robinson lost control of his car on South Fairfield Drive in Pensacola and veered into the oncoming lane. He continued driving the wrong way until his car collided with Brown’s near Martin Drive, the FHP said.
Robinson is charged with driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury, driving on the wrong side of a marked highway, driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
