PENSACOLA, Fla. - Linda Green says her generosity was taken advantage of Monday. A couple came to her door and asked her to watch their five-month-old baby.
Green said, "She such a lovely child, very sweet baby." Green says she didn't really know the couple, but she felt compelled to help because they had to go to work. "He asked me if I would keep the baby for four hours until they went and painted four rooms."
She knew something was wrong when she looked at the clock hours later and fours hours had turned into 12 hours and she still hadn't heard from them.
Green said, "They never came back, nobody ever came back for that child."
That's when she called deputies and they turned the child over to the Department of Children and Families.
Green says her heart goes out to that baby. She said, "I just don't know what to think now. [She was a] cute little girl, just a baby, no trouble."
Deputies are looking for the parents or any relatives at all of the child, if you have any information call Crimestoppers at 850-433-STOP.
