Political action committee sponsors half-price gas giveaway

PACE, Fla. (WALA) - The "Gas Can Man" is in Pensacola on Tuesday giving away gas at a reduced price of $1.84.

The Morning in America/ Energize Political action committee is behind the event which began at 4 p.m. One hundred people will be able to get up to 15 gallons of gas at the reduced price. The giveaway occurred at the Shell station at 4885 W Spencer Field Rd. in Pace.

Steve Gill, the CEO of the Energize PAC said the "Gas Can Man" is being used to promote a "can do" attitude with regards to energy.

“We need an all of the above approach to energy policy, because coal, gas, natural gas, biofuels, solar, nuclear, etc., ALL fit in the CAN!” Gill said in a press release.
